MAESTRAL, being easy to drive, can be used with both valve or transistor amplifiers.

MAESTRAL superior achievements are due in part to its internal cabinet design; the « CrossFlow » principle consists of two acoustically coupled internal chambers which effectively regulate the sound waves inside the cabinet while stabilizing the air pressure behind the driver cones. This design principle eliminates the usual harmful effects of standing waves while providing a more linear response curve and extended bass register without "boomy" effects. In addition, as both cavities are optimally tuned, dynamic compression is reduced, thus increasing tansient response. The rear internal chamber is loaded by a rear port to enhance bass response.

The MAESTRAL cabinet is made of 25 mm high density MDF under a real cherry wood veneer with a high gloss finish. The 25mm drivers baffle which is added to the front, is sideways angled to avoid symmetrical edges so that it provides a better defined and more spacious soundstage. With its very high density and its 50 mm thickness all together, this part helps reducing external vibrations. Its basis is equally made of 50mm MDF, and it is shaped in such a way as to concentrate and get rid of vibrations.

The « direct coupling » phase-coherent crossover without PC board is made of very high-end precision components. This highly sophisticated crossover has been particularly cared for as regards components. These have been skillfully selected for their technical achievements but above all their musical achievements: wax foil coils, silver/gold capacitors, carbon/silver resistors... Connection to the amplifier is ensured via high quality WBT Nextgen gold plated binding post. The internal wiring uses a home-made copper/silver cable with PTFE insulation.
Like all high-performance equipments, the MAESTRAL tweeter will be specially sensitive to the elements which it is linked to, most particularly to those which compose the crossover. This new tweeter, from the Illuminator range of Scan Speak company, is equipped with a new type of magnetic open circuit with 6 separate neodyme magnets. Its extreme accuracy, wide frequency response, and very good dispersion are an important asset of MAESTRAL utmost musical achievements.

The mid/woofer drive units manufactured by the famous AUDIO TECHNOLOGY brand are fit out with a composite cone of carbone polypropylene. These cones are light and neutral acoustically speaking. These drive units are equipped with a highly powerful magnetic circuit which will induce the movement of the hexagonal section wire coil whose core is set with a copper clad, which limits harmonic distorsions.
